After you have paid off your advance credit you can borrow a portion of your credit limit. This is called your available credit. This will impact how much future borrowing is possible. You can also make payments on your balance. Each card issuer has its own methodologies for offsetting your outstanding balance.
Interest-free grace period
The interest-free grace time for credit cards is the period between the end of the billing cycle and the due dates on your statement, during which you will not have to pay interest on any purchases made with the card. Credit card grace periods are usually for new purchases only and do not apply to cash advances or balance transfers. Once interest starts accruing on these purchases, the grace periods end and you must pay your balance in full.
There are different interest-free grace periods for credit cards. To determine the length and duration of your grace period, you should consult your agreement.

Transferred balances are subject to an additional interest rate
A credit card that has a balance that has been carried forward from a previous billing period will likely have an interest rate. This interest rate is calculated each day. To calculate the interest rate, we use the average daily account balance for a given billing period.
While you will be responsible for the interest accrued on any balance left over, you will also lose the grace period. Each day, interest accrues until you pay the full amount. This is also known as residual interest or trailing interest. This applies only to balances that are carried forward from one billing cycle to another. The interest will stop once you pay off your statement balance in full.
Late fees
Late fees are a major source of revenue for many credit card companies. Late fees can amount to as much as 24 percent of your total monthly bill, and they are particularly burdensome for economically vulnerable customers. You can negotiate a lower late fee if you are good with your card issuer. The best way to avoid paying late fees is to pay your bills on time. Automated payments can be set up through your bank or credit card issuer.
If you are late on a payment, please call the customer care number on the back. If you're unable to reach the customer service line, you can also send a letter explaining your situation. Some cardholders have had success sending secure messages online.
